Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer has said that the Maldives has shown the world that it can maintain its independence on its own.
Zameer made the remarks while speaking with Madifushi residents during his visit to the island while accompanying the President on his tour of the islands in Kolhumadulu Atoll.
Minister Zameer stated that the President announced the Maldivian army's ability to conduct continuous surveillance over the country's marine domain, something that had never been considered before.
It was previously thought that the Maldives would always have to rely on people, but President Muizzu's far-sightedness has achieved successes in the past two months, he said.
The Minister also noted there was a good relationship between the Maldives and the other countries. The Minister said the relationship between the countries has been strengthened due to President Muizzu's far-sightedness and advice and guidance.
