Assistant Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikuree and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen have been appointed as the Deputy Commissioners of Police.
According to the Maldives Police Service, Minister of Home Land Security and Technology Ali Ihsan handed the appointment letters to Farhad Fikuree and Ismail Naveen at a ceremony held at Iskandhar Building today.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad joined the Maldives Police Service on 30 March 1991. During his 32 years in the police service, Farhad has worked in various departments of the Maldives Police Service. He has worked in various departments such as Operational, Investigative, and Administrative and Support.
Until he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Farhad served as Head of the Operational Support Command and Acting Head of the People's Directorate.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen joined the Maldives Police Service on 7 July 1994. During his 29 years in the police service, Naveen has worked in various departments of the Maldives Police Service. He has worked in various departments such as Operational, Investigative, and Administrative and Support.
He served as the Head of the Corporate Services Directorate until he was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Naveen was also a candidate for the post of Commissioner of Police. ACP Ali Shujau contested the post of Police Commissioner along with ACP Ismail Naveen. The Police Board decided to appoint Ali Shujau as the Police Commissioner.
