According to the Maldives Police Services, the case of Parliament Members receiving death threats is being looked into.

Speaking at a news conference today, Acting Head of Crime Investigation Command Chief Superintendent Ahmed Nafiz said that some MPs have received death threats.

The case was reported to the police by the MDP. The MDP said some members and their families have received death threats.

In addition, a recent confrontation between members of the Parliament at a session held to approve ministers has also been reported, police said. According to the Police, some Parliament members who were injured during the confrontations have also raised complaints.
