President Dr. Mohammed Muizzu has denied rumors of state expenditures on his residence, Dhimyath, after his election.

Addressing a public query in the "Raees ge Javaabu" series, initiated by the President's Office to directly engage with citizens, President Muizzu responded to inquiries regarding purported state spending on his accommodation and meals.

The inquiry, posed by Aminath Najma from Sh. Funadhoo sought clarification on rumors suggesting significant state expenditures on the President's meals and accommodation. Najma referenced claims that millions of Maldivian Rufiya were spent on the President and First Lady's meals within the first 100 days of his tenure, with MVR 25 million allegedly allocated for the President's accommodation at Dhimyath.

In response, President Muizzu vehemently refuted these assertions, emphasizing that no state funds had been allocated for his stay at his residence. He clarified that he bore all expenses related to his residence, including security arrangements, out of his pocket.

Additionally, President Muizzu reiterated his dedication to financial responsibility during a recent statement. He made it clear that he has not allowed any government spending on his residence other than his personal contributions. He emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability to avoid any allegations of financial misconduct.
