The government is confident of maintaining the trust of the people, says President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

The President made the statement while speaking to reporters after observing the voting process in the PPM/PNC primary to determine the candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections. President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said the people’s needs are being met. Therefore, the trust towards the government from the people will be maintained, he said.

The President said the ruling party coalition would win a super majority in the parliamentary elections. They are likely to win at least 62 seats in parliament, said Dr. Muizzu.

The President said the government and his heart have good intentions and sincerity towards the people. The government will always work for the benefit of the people, he said.

"I believe the people will accept that. So I am saying that we will win at least 62 seats," he said, adding that the ruling party would take a super majority in parliament.
