The projects that will be initiated in the next two years in the field of sports are projects of President Solih's government, said former Sports Minister Ahmed Mahloof.

Minister Mahloof's remarks came after Sports Minister Abdullah Rafiu said the Sports Ministry was implementing 232 projects worth MVR 600 million when the government took over.

At the “Aha Forum” held by this government, Minister Rafiu said that the projects carried out by the previous government in the field of sports are more than the two-year budget of this government.

In response, Minister Mahloof said Minister Rafiu's remarks were an acknowledgment that many of the projects to be completed and initiated in the next few years will be the work of President Solih's government.

“There is no doubt that what he said was a small amount of the revolutionary change that we have brought to sports under President Solih's administration.” Minister Mahloof said.

In the first episode of the "Aha" program, Minister Rafiu said that when the current government took over, the sports ministry had been assigned 232 projects.

With that, many projects had been handed over to the ministry, and the ministry’s debt had reached MVR 160 million. Of this, MVR 125 million has been paid to clear the debt for various parties, the minister said.
