The PNC Chairman, Abdul Raheem Abdullah, said today that the Government of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is not a top-heavy government, adding that the Government's political positions have not yet reached 500.

Speaking at a press conference on behalf of the PPP-PNC today, PNC Chairman Abdul Raheem Abdullah said he did not believe the Government of President Muizzu was top-heavy Government. According to him, the number of political posts in the Government has not reached 500, and more people will be appointed to implement the Government's policies and fulfill its promises.

He also said that if this Government appoints a person to a political position, he will fulfill his responsibilities and continue to serve the people.

Presidential Special Advisor Abdul Raheem said the Government came to power to do a lot of work. Including RasMale's project, many more projects are in the pipeline, and the work can only be done with a capable team, he said.

"We are creating revenue streams and not depending on any particular people to increase revenue for the Government by paying people and providing the people with the development and growth they need, yet we will continue to appoint people to more positions. We came to power to do a lot of things. There are many projects like Rasmale', which can only be completed with a competent team, so the appointment of people will continue," Abdul Raheem Abdullah said.

The Government, which was formed on November 17, 2023, has appointed 91 state ministers and 163 deputy ministers to the Government so far.

In addition to the cabinet ministers in the 22-ministry cabinet formed by the President, the Government has appointed 20 ministerial appointees.

During the presidential campaign, President Muizzu said the Government would not increase the number of political posts to more than 700.
