Former MDP president Dr. Ibrahim Didi has stated that PPM is campaigning for Nasheed in the MDP presidential primary to overthrow the government in a coup.
While the MDP presidential primary campaigns have started, some PPM activists are campaigning in support of Nasheed on social media.
Responding to a tweet calling on people to vote for Nasheed if they want to bring this government to an end, Dr. Didi said that MDP's "golden yellow army" was firmly behind President Solih.
“PPM is campaigning for Anni (Nasheed) to overthrow the government by a coup," said Dr. Didi.
In his primary campaign, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said he would rule for a second term too with the participation of many political parties. And former President Mohamed Nasheed is advocating for MDP to contest the presidential election alone.
The MDP primary will be held on the 28th of this month.
