Baarashu MP Ibrahim Shujau has accused the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) of corruption and misgovernance during its time in power.
In a series of social media posts, Shujau criticized senior MDP leaders and shared statements made by ministers from the previous administration.
He alleged that the MDP-led government drove the country toward bankruptcy and diverted foreign aid into party leadership’s pockets, while keeping the public under what he called “house arrest.”
Shujau also claimed that the low turnout at the MDP’s recent rally was not due to the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) but reflected public disillusionment with the MDP.
