President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced major urban infrastructure projects for Malé, including new parking facilities and the redevelopment of key markets.
Addressing residents of Henveiru, the President said that four parking facilities planned for Malé, Vilimalé, and Hulhumalé have been included under the Indian Government’s line of credit to address congestion on Malé’ roads.
He also revealed plans to redevelop the existing fish market site into a modern mixed-use complex comprising a fish market, vegetable market, and a dedicated office building for the fisheries sector.
The President said the Government remains committed to improving urban amenities in consultation with the public and relevant stakeholders.
