President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) plays a vital role in providing safe drinking water and sanitation services across the country.

The President stated this during a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Solih highlighted the company’s critical work in providing essential services to the residents of Malé and numerous other islands. He said the company plays a vital role in realizing the government’s commitment to providing safe drinking water and sanitation services across the country. He went on to congratulate MWSC and its staff for its numerous accomplishments over the years.

During the special ceremony, the President was presented with a copy of a book published on the occasion of the silver jubilee of MWSC. The book was presented to the President by Hassan Shah, the managing director of MWSC.

The book is based on the state and development of water and sanitation services in Malé over the history of MWSC. It also contains details of the first-ever academic study published on water and sanitation in Malé.
