In a significant electoral triumph, the ruling party coalition comprising the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and the People's National Congress (PNC) has clinched a resounding victory, securing a supermajority in the Maldivian Parliament.

The results of the parliamentary elections revealed a landslide victory for the PPM - PNC coalition, cementing their dominance in the political landscape of the Maldives. The coalition secured an overwhelming majority of seats, consolidating their hold on the legislative branch of government.

The counting of ballot boxes in many constituencies has been completed so far. According to the provisional results, the PNC has won 71 of the 93 seats in the parliament.

The PPM - PNC coalition's supermajority in Parliament positions them strongly to advance their legislative agenda and implement key reforms aimed at fostering socio-economic progress and national development. With a commanding majority in the legislature, the coalition is poised to enact crucial legislation and policy measures to address pressing issues and meet the aspirations of the Maldivian people.
