Former Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO), Hussain Amru, has suggested that the opposition MDP and Democrats should work together to hold the government accountable.

Amru's comments come as former President Mohamed Nasheed, who was in charge of forming the Democrats, recently criticized the government's policy towards India.

Amru, who contested the last presidential election as a Democrat running mate, said the Democrats and the MDP could work together to hold the government truly accountable.

The Democrats is a party formed by members who supported the former MDP President Mohamed Nasheed. Recently, the party has been critical of some government decisions as well.

Amr has said that the MDP and Democrats can hold the government accountable together, and he is considering contesting the upcoming parliamentary elections in the constituency of former Vice-President of Parliament Eva.

Democrats have decided to contest all constituencies in the 20th Congressional elections. The party's parliamentary primary is scheduled for February.
