According to a humanitarian group that provides funding for the Indonesia Hospital in Gaza, hundreds of Palestinians are thought to have been injured in Israeli airstrikes near the hospital on Friday.

Established in 2015, the Indonesia Hospital in Beit Lahiya was constructed with funds provided by the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) located in Jakarta. Three Indonesian volunteers who have been in the hospital since Israel started its murderous assault on Gaza last month are also sent by the NGO.

One of the few hospitals still operating in Gaza, the institution has provided care to hundreds of Palestinian people while Israel continues to strike the heavily populated territory every day in punishment for the terrorist organization Hamas's attack on October 7.

Earlier this week, the Israeli military claimed that Hamas was using the Indonesian hospital “to hide an underground command and control center.”

The statement was immediately denounced by MER-C as an attempt to “craft a public lie,” while the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the hospital “is a facility that Indonesians built entirely for a humanitarian purpose and to serve the medical needs of Palestinian people in Gaza.”
