Speaker of the Parliament accused a Police officer for trying to bug Parliament Committee meeting rooms and Parliament offices.
Speaking at the recent Parliament sitting, Nasheed said that Sergeant at Arms have brought his attention, that a Police officer has tried to bug a Parliament Committee room, Parliament Deputy Speaker’s office, and the office of the Parliament Speaker.
Nasheed added that the Police officer who was trying to bug the Parliament had contacted an administration staff at the Parliament. He praised the staff for bringing it to Parliament securities attention.
Speaking further, Nasheed said that since the incident involves a Police Officer, the incident will be investigated from a Parliament Committee.
Nasheed said that the incident will be reported to the Parliament Committee on National Security Services.
