With more than 173,000 tourists arrivals to the Maldives last month, statistics show a 15.1 percent increase of tourist from March last year, according to statistics released from the Maldives Immigration.

Immigration today released the statistics of tourists who entered the country last month.

Statistics show that 173,514 tourists visited the Maldivea last month. The average number of tourists visited was at 5597 per day.

According to immigration, 7384 tourists visited the country on the peak day. It was March 4th. The lowest number of tourists arrived on March was recorded on 29th of the month. The report shows 4169 tourist arrivals on March 29.

During last month, Russia had the highest number of tourists visitors to the Maldives with 20,313 tourists, India came in second on the list with 18,099 tourists, followed by the UK with 17,261.

Along with 173,514 tourist arrivals in March, the total number of tourists visiting the country in the first three months reached 523,928.
