President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that MDP members should focus on the upcoming presidential election that comes after the primary.
The President said this while speaking to MDP members in N. Miladhoo in his official campaign visit there.
During the meeting, President Solih said it was important for MDP to continue to be in power to maintain the development and progress coming to Maldives. He said MDP members should focus on the upcoming presidential election that comes after the primary.
The President said the biggest and most important task to be done now is to maintain MDP rule to continue and complete the ongoing development projects. He said that the best way for the people of Maldives, as seen by the changes coming to the country now under the current government, is for MDP to remain in power.
"When we were not in power, we were on the streets, in fear of violence. Not only on the streets, many people were even sent to jail. None of us want that day to return," said President Solih.
The President also spoke about the development of Miladhoo. He noted that since this government came to power, the problem of the harbour of Miladhoo has been solved, the power plant has been upgraded and a water supply system has been established. President Solih added that an ATM will be installed in Miladhoo this year.
