President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and Vice President Faisal Nasym, on Saturday, signed the book of condolences opened in JEN Maldives Malé in memory of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE, Emir of Abu Dhabi, and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The President described His Highness Sheikh Khalifa as a great statesman and a visionary leader whose service and dedication to the UAE and its people would forever be remembered.



His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, 73, passed away Friday afternoon. Sheikh Khalifa was president of the UAE since 2004, but his role had been largely ceremonial since he suffered a stroke in 2014. He has largely been out of public sight ever since.
