April 8, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 113 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 56 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 57 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 11 people are positive from operational resorts, and 46 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 25,304 cases, including 3,062 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 2,950 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 152 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 22,166.

According to HPA, there are 85 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 67 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 14,951 people across the Maldives have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield. Out of this, 4,382 people were vaccinated today.

According to HPA, so far, 265,235 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of this, 4,950 people received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
