A total of 09 cases reported positive to Covid-19 from the M. Kolhufushi Island cluster.

As per the information received to Ras Online, Covid-19 infected people from Kolhufushi include an elderly person, a one-year-old toddler, and a teacher. In addition to this, a police officer, an administration officer from the Council administration office, and the wife and child of the ambulance driver.

Following the Covid-19 cases reported from Kolhufushi, the Health Protection Agency has taken 106 samples from the island. Kolhufushi island was put under monitoring status on January 24, after a person who traveled from Kolhufushi to Male’ was reported positive to Covid-19, and 52 people have been identified as direct contact to this initial case.

Over 15,000 cases have been reported positive to Covid-19 in the Maldives, out of which over 13,000 infected people have been recovered.
