January 21st, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 53 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded includes 29 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 24 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. This includes 17 people positive from operational resorts and 05 people positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 14,765 cases, including 1,025 active cases to Covid-19 recorded within the last 24 hours.

So far, HPA has taken 376,877 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 2,541 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 44 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 13,683.
According to HPA, there are 74 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 50 deaths from Covid-19 complications.
