The UAE, with a population of around 9.9 million people, has seen the number of daily new cases surge over the past two months.

As per the recent reports on October 6th, by the Ministry of Health and Prevention of UAE, along with 1,231 cases on Saturday the total number of cases since the pandemic began has reached 100,794. It has also been reported that this would be the highest number of positive cases recorded in the last 2 months.

The ministry also said the total of 90,556 cases has been recovered from COVID-19 along with the death toll rising to 435 from the records of October 6th.

The UAE has a high per capita rate of COVID-19 tests. The country has carried out more than 10 million tests so far, the government statistics authority says.

Elsewhere, Kuwait and Oman have also recorded over 100,000 COVID-19 cases.
