ACC sends corruption charges against Former Deputy Mayor of Male’ city, Mr Ibrahim Sujau, to the PG office. After investigation ACC has accused Sujau to be charged with using influence of position to obtain or confer an undue advantage.

In reference to the statement by ACC, investigation has been done for a corruption case of allegation lodged towards Male’ City Council, for passing the blueprints for a building and issuing permits, authorizing construction of a building on a 250 square foot land owned by a private citizen. Upon checking the documents, it has been reported that the authorized construction of a building height exceeds the height limit permitted under Male’ Planning Regulation.

The authorisation documents released by the Male’ city council in 2014 mentions approval to construct the building at 12 meters in height while the city council documents clearly mentions that construction of a building can be authorised on a 250 square foot land but the building can only be constructed upto a 6 meters in height.

ACC mentions that upon investigation, they have collected enough evidence against the former deputy mayor of Male’ City proving his corruption charges of using influence of position.
