According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), a young man who went missing after he went snorkeling off the coast of the west park area in Male’ city has been found dead.

MNDF says a team of divers from the Male’ Area Coastguard was deployed after Shaffan Rasheed, 24, M. Boiling Fish, Male’, was reported missing at approximately 04:36 pm. He ventured out on a solo snorkeling trip at approximately 11:00 am.

MNDF confirms that divers recovered his body from 12.1 meters underwater.
