Former Minister of Communication, Science and Technology and current People’s National Front (PNF) lead activist Mohamed Maleeh Jamal has said former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom remains the most famous and influential figure in the political arena.

He remarked in a post on X, referencing the PNF youth-led “Rise Up” rally.

The event, which drew a large turnout, was attended by President Yameen. Maleeh said the strong participation reflected the hopes and confidence that young people place in the PNF.

At the rally, President Yameen criticized the government’s performance over the past two years. In another post, Maleeh said President Muizzu’s “two-year report card” had been revealed, noting that Yameen had generously given the administration 20 out of 100 marks.

He added that the report presented before a crowd that gathered “from the heart,” without the use of state resources, was a shameful reflection of the government’s failures.
