President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that major infrastructure projects, including coastal protection and road development works, will begin in August in N. Miladhoo. The announcement was made during his address to residents of the island as part of his tour of South Miladhunmadulu Atoll.

The President stated that the coastal protection work will be undertaken by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), while the Road Development Corporation (RDC) will handle road development. He noted that the coastal protection project is being designed to support future land reclamation and ensure easy beach access, reflecting the community’s needs and aspirations.

In addition to these upcoming works, President Muizzu shared updates on other ongoing developments. He said the island’s water supply project and new health centre construction are nearing completion. Addressing staffing shortages, he assured residents that more nurses will soon be deployed to strengthen the health facility's 16-hour operations.

On housing and employment concerns, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering the 50-unit housing project. He added that the community will have the option to choose between building individual homes on private plots or grouped housing in a designated area.

President Muizzu concluded by assuring residents that all development promises made to the people of Miladhoo will be fulfilled.
