Inguraidhoo MP and PNC Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falaah stated on Thursday that there is no strain between President Mohamed Muizzu and Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdullah despite the dismissal of the Speaker’s son, Ibrahim Faisal, from the post of Tourism Minister.

Addressing the media after the presidential statement, Falaah emphasized that President Muizzu makes thoughtful decisions aimed at benefiting the country. He noted that the dismissal demonstrated the President's impartiality in decision-making, regardless of personal relationships.

Falaah said the President's actions show that he is willing to take measures even when it involves his own family, dismissing speculation of any tension between Muizzu and Abdul Raheem.

However, Abdul Raheem had earlier expressed disappointment over Faisal’s dismissal, suggesting that if his relationship with the President was positive, such an action would not have been taken. He acknowledged feeling emotional about the situation, viewing it from a father’s perspective.
